Our Blessed Baby

On April 21st, Rex was able to give Alice her baby blessing.  In the LDS church, baby blessings are sacred ordinances.  Men who hold the Melchizedek priesthood gather in a circle and hold the baby in their hands.  Those in the circle for Alice's blessing were Rex, his dad, his grandpa, my brother Andrew, my brother-in-law John, and my doctor who delivered Alice.

The purpose is to bring the baby before the Lord and give her a name and a blessing.  Rex gave Alice a blessing according to promptings he received from the Holy Ghost.  It was neat to hear what kind of person Alice will grow up to be.

Many members from both of our families were able to be there, as well as some friends.  It was a joyous event.  We are so grateful for Alice and we thank Heavenly Father everyday for this special gift He has given us.

After church, we went to Rex's family's house for a brunch.  It is nice that both of our families live near each other so we can all celebrate these events together.  Thank you to everyone who shared this special occasion with us!

  1. I'm glad I made it! Well worth the speeding and blowing through those red lights! :)

  2. It's always nice to share these occasions with family. I'm glad Andrew didn't get a speeding ticket because then he really would have missed the whole thing! Brunch at the Biberston's was great!
