This past weekend we went on a road trip to San Antonio to visit my Aunt Marie and Uncle Joe. Marie is my dad's older sister. The last time I saw Marie and Joe was at my dad's funeral in 2008. I'm grateful that I had a chance to visit with them and that they got to meet Rex and Alice!
We drove down Sunday and spent the night at their house, then drove home Monday. Google maps told us the drive would take 4 1/2 hours, but it turned out to be more like 7 hours with a baby in tow. Nothin' like driving 14+ hours in the space of 2 days! Good thing we love being on the road together. :)

Before getting to my aunt and uncle's house, we stopped by the San Antonio temple. We couldn't get very close. Alice was so upset about that, she refused to get out of the car for a picture.
Monday morning we took some pictures in Marie and Joe's backyard. The other pictures are of a street around the corner from their house. They live in a beautiful house in a really neat neighborhood!
Before driving back to Euless, Rex, Alice, and I went to River Walk. It's a public park in downtown San Antonio composed of hotels, shops, restaurants, and more. We had lunch at Fogo de Chao, a Brazilian churrascaria (similar to Tucanos or Rio Grill, if you're familiar). Then we went on a river boat tour. We had a great time on our getaway!
