We're baaack! After 1 day of packing up, 2 nights in hotels, and 35 hours in the car we made it back to California. We were expecting to stay in Texas until the end of August but we were home by the 9th.
Long story short: Rex was cleared by his superiors to head home early so he could see an orthopedic surgeon about his knees. His knees (both of which he's had 2 surgeries on in the past) have been acting up this summer to the point where he couldn't easily walk. Quite the problem when you have a job that requires you to knock door to door. Rex's bosses know what a stud he is at his job, so they want him to get his knees taken care of asap.
We're sad that Rex's knees aren't so good but we're happy to back in California. Hopefully we can get his knees fixed up soon!
P.S. Alice was AWESOME on the trip! She didn't complain one bit. She's a pretty great baby. :)
